ENCON EVAPORATOR SYSTEMS

Encon Evaporator Systems

Evaporation technology offers a simple and effective approach to industrial wastewater minimization. ENCON Wastewater Evaporators are able to handle a wide range of waste streams simultaneously and are a great option for manufacturing processes that may expand or change in the future. Many companies that generate industrial wastewater are hauling their water for disposal at a high cost per gallon. Other companies are treating the wastewater, often with labor and chemical-intensive processes, and are having to adhere to increasingly strict discharge limits to their local sewer authority.

Encon Drum Evaporator

DRUM EVAPORATORS

HOW DOSE IT WORK?

Both models completely encapsulate a 55-gallon drum of wastewater and heats it from the outside, thereby eliminating contact of the heating elements with the wastewater. This makes the ENCON Drum Evaporator appropriate for not only standard wastewater streams that can be handled in other types of evaporators such as Thermal and MVC, but also for de-watering waste streams with high solid loading, such as water based inks, paints, adhesives, and concentrated residue from other ENCON Evaporators.

ENCON Drum Evaporators are electrically heated small volume evaporators available in two sizes. The DE-2 is a batch evaporator (auto-fill option is also available) that can process 200 gallons per 5 days week. The DE-4 is an auto-fill evaporator that can process 400 gallons per 5 days week.

WHAT CAN IT PROCESS?

The ENCON Drum Evaporator can handle many common waste streams. If your waste stream is substantially water, it is likely to be an excellent application. Visit the APPLICATIONS page for a listing of common applications for ENCON Evaporators.

In addition to the applications that can be handled in all ENCON Evaporators, the ENCON Drum Evaporator is also appropriate for de-watering with high solids loading. This is due to the fact that the ENCON Drum Evaporator heating elements do not come in contact with the wastewater. Examples of these include water-based inks, paints, adhesives and concentrated residue from other ENCON Evaporators.

THERMAL EVAPORATORS

WHAT IS IT?

ENCON Thermal Evaporators are a time-tested method for economically reducing the water portion of water-based wastes. It is our most flexible evaporation system in terms of heat sources available and the different ways to configure the thermal evaporation system including batch, semi-batch, and continuous operation as well as options to recover steam as distilled water.

ENCON Thermal Evaporator Systems are available in a wide range of standard capacities, from 8 to 400 gallons per hour and heat sources that include: gas, propane, electric, steam, oil, waste oil, off spec gas, and waste heat. ENCON was founded more than 20 years ago with the Thermal Evaporators  offering and that original system has evolved and been improved upon to the point it is today which is the industry leader with widest range of configurations.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Put simply, the ENCON Thermal Evaporator Systems allows you to efficiently and affordably convert the water-based portion of water-based wastes to water vapor, while leaving the higher boiling contaminants behind. This can eliminate the need to discharge wastewater to the sewer and or greatly minimizes the amount of waste that needs to be hauled off-site.

If your waste stream is substantially water (70-99%), it is likely to be an excellent application for ENCON wastewater evaporators.

Encon Slurry Dryer

LIQUID SLURRY DRYER

The ENCON Slurry Dryer is engineered to handle liquid solutions in addition to high solids sludges, which makes it an ideal solution for many industrial processes as the solids content of the wastewater generated is often variable. Designed for maximum flexibility, the ENCON Slurry Dryer can operate as an evaporator in addition to a dryer, with capacities from 10 to 50 gallons per hour.

  • Eliminates the need to discharge wastewater

  • Use economical natural gas, propane, steam or convenient electric to heat circulating thermal oil

  • High-torque, low speed mixing paddle promotes homogeneous drying and prevents moisture cavities

  • Can be utilized as a stand-alone single step system for evaporating and drying wastewater or sludge, or implement as the final step in your ZLD process.
